Finally, it’s here: the famed Blender plugin! Starting today, you can access your Substance materials directly inside Blender.
Install the Substance 3D add-on for Blender just like you would install any other plugin! Once that is done, you’ll be able to see a new Substance 3D tab in Shader editor and the 3D view.

When you load an SBSAR file, that tab will show your material and let you change the parameters and presets.

If you want to automatically assign a material to a selected object, there’s an option for that, which should help you work even faster on your texturing in Blender.

Once that is done, access and change the parameters of your Substance material straight into the properties window (ctrl+shift+U for quick access).

You can go back to the default material settings pretty easily, or see your customs settings again – and if you want to save a preset and still work some more on another variation of the material, you can do that by creating a duplicate of your material.

Rig all the bipeds!

For Mixamo users, there’s a good reason to rejoice as well, since there is a separate plugin for Blender, too! You’ll be able to create a control rig on any biped character model directly inside Blender.

There are 2500 motion capture clips that can be used directly on the character, too, so once you’re used to the auto-rigging feature, making the character move is simple. And once you’re back inside Blender, these animations can be customized to suit your needs!
