GDC is here again! The 2022 Game Developers Conference is taking place right now, until March 25 2022, and we are beyond thrilled that this will be an in-person event. Make sure to come talk with us at booth #S1035; we’ve missed seeing your faces!
It brings us immense pride that a wide range of game developers and studios, indie to AAA, are using the Substance 3D toolset to help bring life to the phenomenal games they create. Each year at GDC we take a little time to showcase some of the – many, many – games we’ve loved, created by developers and artists using Substance over the last year.
So, here it is — our GDC showreel for 2022:
Reel good times at GDC
In addition, here’s a quick look back at the gaming highlights we’ve showcased at GDC over the last few years. Last year being out of the ordinary, we skipped a showreel for GDC 2021. Here, then, are the showreels for the half-decade before that, from 2016 to 2020.
2020
Where do we start? So many outstanding games were textured with Substance in 2020 – Cyberpunk 2077, Half-Life: Alyx, the remake of Final Fantasy VII, The Last of Us Part II, Control, Mortal Kombat 11, and a whole heap more!
2019
There were some great games in 2019. You can spot Substance in Marvel’s Spider-Man, Death Stranding, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and many others besides.
2018
For our 2018 showreel, we were able to highlight the use of Substance in spectacular games including Star Wars Battlefront II, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Call of Duty WWII, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Forza Motorsport 7, and others.
2017
In 2017, some of the games that were #madewithsubstance included: Forza Horizon 3, Halo Wars 2, Watch Dogs 2, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Dead Rising 4, and more!
2016
Our showreel for 2016 included games such as Forza Motorsport 6, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III, as well as featuring a range of game-themed characters, monsters, scenes, and more created by 3D artists around the world.
As mentioned, if you’re at GDC this year, pass by booth #S1035. It’d be fantastic to see you!
