Student and Steam Licenses

I purchased my software licenses on Steam and don’t have a Substance account. Am I impacted by this change?

No, your Steam licenses will not be impacted by this change.

I purchased my software licenses on Steam but have a Substance account. Am I impacted by this change?

Your Steam licenses won’t be impacted by this change but if you have a Substance account you should review the changes detailed below to backup anything you need from your Substance account before September 30, 2022.

I have a free student license. Am I impacted by this change?

The free student licenses are provisioned via the Substance account so you should review the changes detailed below to make sure you backup your license key files and builds. Your student licenses will keep working normally until they reach their expiration date but you need to backup the license key files and software builds if you want to re-activate your license on a different machine after September 30, 2022.

Licenses and Accounts

Until when can I log into my Substance account?

You will be able to log into your Substance account on this page until September 30, 2022.

What do I need to backup if I have perpetual licenses on my Substance account?

To ensure you can keep activating the software with your perpetual licenses you will need to download and backup the software builds compatible with your perpetual licenses and the license key files to activate these builds.

Where do I find my invoices?

After logging into your Substance account, you will find your invoices in the “BILLING” section. You can download each invoice by clicking on the red “Download PDF” link. 

Where do I find my license key files?

After logging into your Substance account, you will find your license key files in the “LICENSES” section. You can download each license key file by clicking on the red license key number in the first column on the left. Make sure to also download the latest build compatible with your perpetual license in the last column on the right.

Software Activation

Until when will I be able to activate the software with my license key file?

If your license is perpetual (does not have an expiration date) your license key file will activate the compatible versions of the software indefinitely. 

Until when will I be able to activate the software with my Substance account?

You will be able to activate the software with your Substance account until September 30, 2022.

Until when will I be able to use the Substance Launcher?

The Substance Launcher was deprecated in June 2021. You will be able to use the Substance Launcher until September 30, 2022.

Substance 3D Assets

Until when will I be able to access the Substance 3D Assets downloads on my Substance account?

You will be able to log into your Substance account on the Substance 3D Assets website until September 30, 2022.

Can I transfer my unused downloads to my Adobe account?

If you have/had a Substance Indie legacy subscription and now have a Substance 3D Texturing or Substance 3D Collection subscription for individuals on your Adobe account, you can transfer your unused downloads following this process.

Can I transfer my licensed Substance 3D Assets to my Adobe account?

You can transfer the assets you licensed in the past on your Substance account to your Adobe account following the process detailed on this page  if you have/had a Substance Indie legacy subscription and have an individual Adobe account.

If I have/had a Pro or Enterprise Substance subscription, how does it impact me?

If you have/had a Substance Pro or Enterprise subscription you will no longer have access to your download points or previously licensed assets after September 30, 2022. Make sure you use up the points you have on your account and back up the files you licensed and which are present in the “My Assets” tab.
