Preference available since Sampler 3.2.0 release
Normal maps can be processed using either the DirectX or OpenGL format.
The normal format preference impacts:
- 2D View
- Image Import Layer
In the 2D view, when selecting the normal output, the normal is displayed using the format selected in Preferences.
Image Import Layer
When importing a normal texture, the normal format is set to the format selected in Preferences.
SBSAR and SBS
The normal format is an exposed parameter. This parameter can be tweaked by the host application to generate the normal in the format it needs.
The normal is exported in the format selected in Preferences.
